Relaxation, Make-Up, & Rangers!

Happy Monday friends!!! Did everyone have a good weekend??

Since last weekend was spent doing lots of activities, I decided I would "lay low" this weekend & rest up. It was wonderful & much needed.

I finally painted my pumpkins, which I  think turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself. I stocked up on Bath & Body Works, ate Chick-fil-A, had Starbucks, took the pups on lots of walks, we made pancakes Sunday morning, & I made stove top potpourri! I found this recipe on Pinterest, & I LOVE it.

The little pumpkins spell out, BLESSED :)

I also bought Nicholas Sparks new book, & so far so good. He has never disappointed me. :)

Ok - so the Ulta product I promised I'd tell y'all about.... I know many of you probably use it, but GOOD LORD I am obsessed & now sure how I've gone this long without it. It makes my face feel SO smooth & flawless, & keeps my make-up looking fresh all.day.long.

Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder $28"Tarte's colorless, mattifying, pore minimizing and replenishing Amazonian clay finishing powder locks makeup in place for all day wear and is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of pores by 20% after 4 weeks."

I've also heard this stuff is amaze as well. They are pretty much the same thing, different brand.

Wine, the bug, & a HABOOB!

It feels like a Monday to me, but only because my Monday was spent on the couch with a stomach bug. It all started off well...

...with a Friday lunch with my fran, Candice at Abuelos.

After that, shopping at Ulta where I found the most magnificent make up, ever. I'll blog about it, soon. Promise.

That night? GIRLS NIGHT! We had dinner at a quaint little restaurant with lots of wine. We had a BLAST. We ended the night by going back to our friends house, & talking til 4am. It was much needed :)

Saturday. Burgers with Lauren. And not much else :) I was so tired from the night before, that I rested until 3pm when lover & I headed to a friends house to watch the RANGERS!! {More food.}

I didn't get into bed that night until almost 2am, & woke up bright & early for church that morning. Lauren & I were wearing the same shirt (different pattern) so acourse we had to get a pic! ;)

Next? Brunch. Cue Jennie feeling not-so-bueno. I sucked it up, & went anyways. I ordered the most delicious banana bread french toast with a glass of orange juice & barely touched it.

I thought that maybe I had just over done it, & needed rest. So, I went home to "rest" for about 30 minutes when we were off to another friends house to watch the Cowboys. I once again sucked it up, until the 4th quarter when around 6:30 I knew I was sick.

And sick I was. Hello 24 hour stomach bug!!!! I'm not sure if it was something I ate, eating too much, lack of sleep, or just a bug! After being spoiled rotten by my love, I'm feeling much better today. Thank goodness! It was rough, let me tell ya.

So last night, while I was quietly resting & watching my shows, something very eerie & weird happend. The sky went BLACK & orange & the wind was blowing like crazy! I honestly thought we were fixing to be hit by a tornado. No, not a tornado. We got hit by a.... "Haboob." No, I am SO not making that up, & I had never heard of it before.

The name Haboob is the rooted from the Arabic word "phenomena". This form of monsoon occurs from May until September. It's a dust storm moving at a maximum speed of 80kph (50mph), the average speed is 50kph (30mph). The storm can reach up to heights of 3000 feet. They last about three hours, in which they change the desert landscape. The Haboob wind is caused by thunderclouds in a final phase. Downdrafts in a thunderstorm causes gust fronts, descending air hitting the grond and picking up large amounts of dust. The force moves the dust from above

I live in TEXAS y'all!! Here are some pics.... & yes these are REAL! Crazy!
Orange Sky!

To say my weekend was interesting, is an understatement. Ha! I can now say I was in a haboob! The wind was SO strong, it lifted an airplane THAT WAS ON THE GROUND on it's side. Thank goodness my power never went out, but some unfortunate folks had power outage. We were advised not to leave our homes, because there was zero visibility. It was pretty nuts.

Has anyone else ever experienced this??

Happy Tuesday! :)

F.R.I.D.A.Y.

Yayyyyy it's FRIDAY friends!!!!

If you're wondering, YES I am a brunette, & I love it!!! She didn't have time to cut it yesterday, so I'm going back in today to finish it up. Here is a quick pic, not a very good one, though. It's definitely going to take some time getting used to!
We were supposed to be going out of town this weekend so my love could play in a baseball tournament, BUT it was cancelled. Bummer... kind of. Waking up at 4am on a Saturday morning, driving 3 hours, & sitting all day in the sun doesn't sound as much fun as a full weekend with no plans! PLUS - it's my sweet puppy dogs BIRTHDAY!! Sweet thing will be 6 years young!!!

We are having a girls night tonight, which I'm SOOOO looking forward to! The rest of the weekend is up in the air, & I'm so excited!

I really want to see the movie Footloose, make my apple butter, plant some mums, maybe crock pot some chili, watch football, do a little fall shopping, & who knows what else.
I hope all of y'all have a great, relaxing weekend!

XOXO

"Fran Date!"

Have I mentioned how much I LURVE my friends?? Well, I do. Good friends are so important to have. I truly withallmyheart believe God puts certain people in your life for a reason, & may take them out, too! Either way, everyone is in your life for a reason.

I had a "best fran date" with one of mt BFF's, Candice last night & it was ohhhh so wonderful to see her. We used to see each other at least 3X's a week, but now with our busy lives, we see each other probably once a week if not less. :(

Not the best pic, but whatev.

We had dinner at Pei Wei - yum! And then saw, "What's Your Number" which was surprisingly cute & really funny! Perfect chick flick.

Hope everyone is having a great Wed-nes-day! ;)

Prayer

My amazing church has what's called a "prayer night" every Monday night. Basically, it's like a regular church service, but instead of a sermon our prayer pastor Barry, will talk about certain things like: answered prayers, prayer that the church needs, prayers for certain people, etc. It's also a time to receive prayer if you're going through something tough, or what-not. It's basically awesome & uplifting.

I've tried to make it a habit to attend every Monday night, & so far so good! I missed last week for the first time in almost 2 months, & boy did I regret not going. I usually go with my friends Lauren & Jerica, or my sweet lover. We've also kind of made it our Monday night "thing" to go to prayer, & then meet up at Starbucks after. Just 3 girls, coffee, laughter, some serious moments, advice, encouragement, & just ears to listen.

It does my soul good. I love it, and I love these 2 girls. There is nothing better than having friends that will pray for you, & truly understand what it means to have the Lord be the center of your life.

There is nothing more important than prayer.

God hears every single one of them, He may not answer them right away, or He may not answer them at all. But He ALWAYS always knows what's best for us. We are all on HIS plan.

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

If I can ever pray for ANY of you, please don't ever hesitate to ask! Shoot me an e-mail (jennie_c2005@yahoo.com) & I'd be happy to help in any way I can. :)

Also - here is a link to check out Monday Night Prayers blog!

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend!

Hey y'all! As we say from Texas....

It's Monday, & so here is a little weekend re-cap! :)

Lets see, Friday night. Lovehead & I kept it pretty low key. I made a new dish (via Pinterest acourse), & it was delish! And now I can't find the pin...go figure.

We ended up staying up til 3am just talking, drinking wine, & dancing in the living room. Totally random right?? But ohhh it was so much fun. :) Needless to say, I slept in later than I have in a LONG time, so after so coffee & donuts, I was ready to roll!

Saturday. We watched football all.day.long. Don't get me wrong, I do love football but c'mon. 12 hours of it??!!? ha!!!

Also - our TEXAS RANGERS are in the play-off to the world series baby!!!!!! This is H U G E. AND, it was my grandpa's birthday on Saturday. 76 years young. This man is my hero, & pretty sure I could go on & on & on about him... :)

Sunday. It's my favorite day of the week, easy. I get to worship my God, listen to my favorite pastor speak, & enjoy the day with loved ones. So, we of course went to church, & hit up Abuelos after. My fav!! ;)
I finally was able to wear my new riding boots because it was pretty cool out.

Next? To the pumpkin patch we go!!! I LOVE everything about Fall, & this is definitely one of my favorite activities.

We needed some stuff at Target, so of course we goofed off & tried on the silly costumes. Kids are heart.

We just hung out the rest of the afternoon, I made chili dogs for my love & his bro, & baked my Nannie's famous banana bread. SO GOOD. It was a great day/weekend!

Oh, & I'll be going brunette this Thursday. So I only have a few more days of being blonde! ah! :)
