What I'm Loving Wednesday

Time for some What I'm Loving Wednesday! :)

I'm loving... this cute wallet & bracelet I purchased this past weekend.

I'm loving... that I FINALLY got all my spring cleaning out of the way! I organized every bin & nook, threw away bags & bags of STUFF, dusted & wiped down every area possible, and even gave a lot of my clothes to goodwill. :) organized home = happy girl.

I'm loving... that I subscribed to Southern Living again. You see, I had done it once, but the I guess the order never went through so I finally had a chance to order again. I'm so excited - the recipes and decorating advice are my favorite!!

I'm loving... that we have a fun/low-key weekend planned which includes: planting flowers, going to the drive-in movie (YAY!), I'm going to do some craft projects, grilling out with friends, cooking, going to church, & relaxing!

I'm loving... these Mason jars I bought! I LOVE drinking pink lemon-aide out of them in the summertime! Or a cold glass of milk at night.

I'm loving... that we got to have a friend date yesterday! It was rare that the 3 of us got to get together :) Didn't get a pic of Lauren.

I'm NOT loving... that the wind & dust is SO bad here. We got caught in a dust storm ( we were sitting on the patio) and all of our drinks were ruined. :( I'm worried because we are in tornado alley.

I'm loving... my new little set-up by my front door. :)

Weekend Recap

This past weekend we loaded up the Jeep & headed to pretty Brownwood for a sweet 16 party! We had a blast! Here are some pictures from my iPhone - I'm too lazy to upload them from my camera. :) We had to leave our sweet doggies here with friends, but they had fun. Crazy how much I missed them!

It was a great weekend! Back to the real world this week. Speaking of real world - my heart is so sad for those in Joplin, MO. They had over 50 tornadoes hit last night, lots of people who lost everything, and 80 dead so far. Please pray for them.

Weight Loss

So, I've been pretty bad about keeping up with my "weight loss journey." So now, I shall tell you all a little bit about it. :)

SOOOO since then, Bikini Bootcamp is OVER! I definitely don't miss waking up at 5:15 am every morning, but I do miss all the girls & having my work out knocked out by 7.

There isn't really much to tell except that I've lost about 15 lbs! Yay! :) I feel much better - my clothes fit not-so-snug which is nice! I still want to lose 6-7 more lbs but I'm pretty happy with where I'm at! I did realize that I do NOT want to be as skinny as I was when I moved to L - I love my curves. :) I never thought I would say that! I guess that's what maturing does to you, huh? :)

For those wondering how I lost it - no secrets here. All I did was eat healthy & work out. That's it. I was making it WAY more complicated than it should be - which is what a lot of us do I think. I pretty much ate what I love, but in moderation. You want some cookies & milk before bed? Just eat one cookie :) Are you craving that Mexican food? Eat half the plate & take the rest home. Just try not to think about it as much. :)

Girl Stuff

HELLO! Where should I start? Hmm maybe I'll start with my awesome friends! We had lots of girl time this weekend, and it.was.fabulous. I definitely needed some pampering & girl talk :)

Saturday my friend Candice & I had margaritas at Abuelos, and snacked on appetizers. I got a skinny girl marg(s) & it was DELISH! I highly recommend. We chatted & caught up on life because we've both been so busy our "us" time was being pushed aside & I am not okay with that. After that, we went & saw Bridesmaids. Oh my WORD.... SOOOOOO funny!!! We laughed our little tooshes off, & Lord have mercy - I can RELATE! ha!!! Loved it.

Sunday, my sweet love & I went to church, & then he had some stuff to do so I went with my other friend Lauren BACK to Abuelos. HA. Don't judge. We like our Mexican food, and it wasn't packed. :) After we ate, we chatted for far too long - (our waiter was HIGHLY annoyed) we left to get mani/pedi's! Ahh bliss.

Then we headed to Ulta, where I splurged on GOOD make up. The only time I ever use nice make up is when my mom buys it for me. I'm a Target kind of girl. :) I spent a pretty penny BUT - I know it will last because I don't put a TON on. It's an investment in my eyes. ;) Here is some stuff I bought & so far love:

We are headed out of town AGAIN this weekend for D's cousins sweet 16, so I have a busy week with lots to do! I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! Oh, and someone had this as their facebook status & it keeps popping into my head. Its definitely a great verse to always keep in mind. :)

Since I've been gone...

....things has been beyond crazy! Seriously, so busy & lots going on. It seems like May & June are always the busiest months for everyone. But like I always say, I wouldn't have it any other way :)

First things FIRST... there is MORE firein West Texas! We need prayers, people! Lots of 'em! I came home to Alpine (very last minute trip) for Mothers Day. As y'all know, we've had very bad forest fires (click on the read my post about the fire 3 weeks ago) here because we haven't had rain in almost a year. It's bad.

Right in the middle of our mothers day lunch out here at my grandparents house in the country, we see smoke. The rest is history, kind of.

It's been almost 24 hours, and over 6,000 acres have been burned, & let me tell ya - those flames were WAY to close for comfort. We were suppose to evacuate, but we never left because we would NOT let those flames get to this house. We did take down pictures that couldn't be replaced just in case, and some documents. My grandpa has been a firefighter for over 30 years, and now he teaches huge seminars all over the state of Texas to young firefighters. So, needless to say he knows his stuff. Here are some pictures I took with my iPhone.

There have been planes and helicopters since yesterday flying over head. Please pray for rain!!!

Phew! My grandpa just left to fight fire, when I asked him if I could go, he straight up told me, "No!" ha! Do you think it's because I'm a girl?!?! hehe :)

In other news, we celebrated my friend Candice's birthday last week with happy hour! I only got one picture with my phone. We had a good 2 hours of skinny girl margaritas & laughs!

I helped my momma plant some pretty flowers on Saturday :)

This is a pretty random post, and probably pretty boring (ha), but I guess the main point is just pray for rain. Hopefully they can get all these fires out sooner than later. I have to go back to L tomorrow morning (boo) to resume work & life, but it was nice to have a little break, even if it was being spent watching fires!
