My very first, Wishful Wednesday!

'I wish' .... I had the start up funds to build that company I have always dreamt about, and it would be... a bakery!

I know, I'm such a girl, but I've never had a dream to start a company so I couldn't really think of anything, besides a cute, girly, wedding makin', cupcake bakin' bakery! Hmm.....

HOW FUN!!!
** I have to do this on Tuesday evening because Wednesday is going to be a very busy day for me! :) Happy Wednesday! :)

Happy Birthday, Alicia!!!

Today is my boyfriends brother girlfriends birthday, aka my favorite future sister-in-law!! :) She is a beautiful person inside and out, and I have NO idea what the heck I would do without her! So thank you for always being there, and always being YOU! I hope you have a great day because you deserve it! Love you! :)

Sorry the pics aren't too clear, but here is the lady herself!

Too bad they live in Midland :( I would love to hang out with her on her special day, BUT I'm there in spirit. :)

My plans for today include: Working out, organizing my closet, going to hang out with one of my girlfriends (she got a new puppy named Bella!), taking my Belle for her walk, cooking dinner, reading, and bed. Ha! I'm sure you all wanted to know that. Oh, & I'm super excited to participate in Wishful Wednesday on the Seattle Smith's! Go visit her adorable blog, http://kelseyandgabriel.blogspot.com/. I'm going to leave you with a picture of my little fur-baby because she is just too precious for words! :)

Pray for Kate

Hello all. Well, my 5k run was awesome (and cold!), and to have friends right by your side is always nice and encouraging. As I was running, I just started praying. I was thanking God for blessing me with more than I deserve. I take all of it for granted sometimes, like most human beings, but when you think about all the rest of the world, and the circumstances others are going through, you can't help but to raise your hands up high and praise Him. Today, while you're doing the dishes or cooking dinner, walking the dog, spending time with family & friends, or any other activity most of us do on a day-to-day basis, don't forget to give thanks for all that you have.

So, I'm asking all of you to stop what you're doing, and say a quick prayer for this precious little angel, Kate. She has been battling cancer since last summer and could use all the support and prayers this world can possibly give her. Her parents are very strong, but with 2 other children at home, and their little girl in radiation & chemo, things can get tough. Go to: www.prayforkate.com to read her story.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Dear Winter, I'm ready for SPRING!

I hope everyone has been having a great week thus far, because its almost over! I'm watching the Texas vs Alabama Game right now and of course I'm NOT going for UT!! Well, actually I'm watching The Real Housewives of Orange County because Don is at work, and I have NO CLUE as to what is going on in the game, so I don't know when to get excited and when to not...except when they make a touchdown, I get that part! haha!

Today I had lunch at Abuelos with some of the girls, I just love them! :) Tomorrow I have another lunch date with another girlfriend that I havnt seen in about a month. I love lunch, and I love dates, so its perfect! :)

And I guess I should get to the point of this post, it is literally FREEZING outside! It was 3 degrees when I woke up this morning with a windshield of 0 and its only supposed to get worse! Yuck! I'm a winter gal alllllllll the way, but even I'm ready for Spring! Its so hard to get up and go work out, much less do anything else when its so cold. Ok, I think I'm about done. I should be praising God for giving me legs to go outside, and my healthy immune system that never lets up and keeps me healthy all the time! (Knock on wood).

I'm still really homesick. I've never been like this before, and I think its because I'm just anxiously awaiting school to start, I have no job (because of school) and so I'm bored pretty much all the time. I need some projects or something to keep me busy until the 21st! Well, enough of my rambling, I'm off to paint my nails and watch the game!! xoxoxoxo

2010

What a great start to the year, 2010! Usually every year, around Christmas time I start my "New Years Resolutions" and every year they always have something to do with getting in shape, saving money, etc etc. Well, this year, I thought I would do something different and instead of making resolutions, I will do what is called, an affirmation. No, I did not come up with this on my own, one of my friends and I were chattin' it up one day on the phone about how we always look back on our "resolutions" and say, well I didn't accomplish that, that, or THAT! Its quite frustrating, really. An affirmation is stated in the dictionary as: 1.to state or assert positively; maintain as true 2.to confirm or ratify 3.to assert solemnly 4.to express agreement with or commitment to; uphold; support. So, as my friend said in her blog http://www.nicolezunker.blogspot.com/ (check it out!!!) "Which would you feel more obligated to uphold? A resolution or an affirmation?" So people, I started on my trek to find me some good New Years Affirmations!! Yay, go me. :) I won't go into detail about these so-called affirmations because they're personal, and I think if I keep them to myself, I'll feel more obligated to actually DO THEM! I will though, for sure let y'all know how I'm doing, and if this new word will make a difference in the way I treat year 2010! Cheers! :) here are some pictures from our New Years weekend, a place I like to call HOME SWEET HOME!!!!

Guess who's BAAAACK!!

ME! So sorry for my prolonged absence, but this girl has been busy (as always!) Where do I even start?! Bullets it is.

  • Finals went well, but I'm so not ready to start back!!
  • I didn't go home til Christmas Day because that sweet 'ol boyfriend of mine had to work and we were only taking one car to save money AND because road trips with your best friend are kind of fun. :)
  • We were snowed in Christmas Eve, we got 6 inches of now and a whole lotta ice....NOT FUN. Driving home on that was horrible, we were slipping and sliding everywhere, but it was SO worth it when we finally saw our families!
  • Christmas was everything I had hoped for and more. With lots of food, presents, and family it was so awesome. We went to Don's ranch the day after Christmas and stayed for a couple of days. For New Years Eve, we headed out to ANOTHER ranch and celebrated BIG. It was so beautiful out there by the river, and can really clear one's head!
  • We just got back to Lubbock this morning, and boy am I homesick. I miss the mountains, clean air, tasty (and i mean TASTY) water, friendly faces, slow pace of things, the cowboys you see driving around with their trailors, and most of all my family. This always happens when I go home, so I know it will be better tomorrow but the first day back to Lubbock is always a little tough. I have really been trying to make Lubbock my "home" by finding a church I attend regulary (which I did and it has changed my life!!), good friends, organizations to get involved in, and the simplicity of life. I have found all of those, I guess I just need to focus more on them.
Well folks, I guess thats it for now. Its hard for me to concentrate right now because all I keep thinking about are all the things I need to be doing!! I have a plan for 2010 so hopefully I can get back on tonight and share it with you all! Happy New Year!! :)
